Our Testimonies
Paul
Paul was born in a Christian home with parents who loved the Lord. Their desire and prayer was that each of their eight children would give their lives to love and serve the Lord in full time ministry. By God’s grace, that prayer has been answered. All eight children serve the Lord either as missionaries, Christian school teachers, assistant pastors or in evangelism.
Paul came to faith in Christ on July 24, 1999 after hearing a message on Hell at Vacation Bible School. A few years later, Paul surrendered his life to do whatever God wanted him to do and was baptized. On a cold January Monday night of Revival meetings in 2005, Paul sensed that God wanted him to be a preacher. That night he yielded to God’s leading for his life and has been confident of that call ever since. As Paul matured, he sensed that God had gifted him as an evangelist. This gifting was recognized by his pastor and others who encouraged him down this path. His first preaching opportunities were at a local nursing home and then from there many other opportunities came up for him to develop as a preacher. From a young age, Paul had a love for Jesus, the Word of God, the local church and the ministry instilled in him by his parents and a love for these things still motivate his ministry today.
To help further this gift and calling, Paul attended Baptist College of Ministry in the fall of 2008 majoring in Bible and minoring in evangelism. While there, God used various other preachers to help mold and guide him. As part of his degree, Paul was required to travel with two seasoned evangelists, Dr Rick Flanders and Dr Jim Van Gelderen. God powerfully used this instrumental time to confirm his calling and give direction for his future ministry. Also during this time, his love for the local church and his desire to see local churches fulfilling the great commission and reaching their communities grew exponentially. Paul became convinced that the way to see this goal accomplished was for churches to experience genuine revival. This has become the heartbeat of Paul’s ministry.
After college, Paul married his wife Lisa, and then became staff evangelist at his home church, Mukwonago Baptist Church. He also completed a masters degree at Baptist College of Ministry. God has opened up several overseas revival opportunities for Paul and Lisa throughout the years. They have ministered in South Africa, Malawi, Hungary, Kenya, Ireland and Australia in preaching and music ministry. It is their desire to honor God and help people across the U.S. and wherever else God may lead.
Lisa
Lisa (Parker) Rains was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. When she was a little girl, her parents began attending Lifegate Bible Baptist Church and were soon led to Christ and discipled by her pastor, David O’Gorman. When Lisa was in elementary school, she realized that despite being raised in a God-fearing home and regularly attending church, she too desperately needed a Savior to forgive her sins. She was saved in 1999 and baptized soon after.
In high school, Lisa wrestled with what God wanted her to do with her life and finally surrendered to go to the United States and attend Bible college. Aside from the spiritual growth and personal maturing she gained from Bible college, Lisa also met Paul there!
During the summer of 2012, Lisa traveled with a college evangelistic team that sought to reach teenagers for Christ. She fell in love with traveling and prayed that the Lord would let her be in a similar ministry long term. God answered that prayer three years later when Lisa married Paul Rains. After spending 6 months in Ireland, Paul and Lisa returned to the States to adjust to married life and to begin their ministry together.
These days, Lisa stays very busy chasing four little boys around as well as helping with the ministry as much as she can. Her favorite part of traveling in evangelism is leading children’s meetings with her helpers (her sons!).
